When it comes to recognizing the service and sacrifices of U.S. military personnel, nothing is quite like USAF decorations. For instance, in 2017, Staff Sergeant Thomas J. Fitzgerald was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for his exceptional efforts as an instructor at the Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas. Finally, the Air Force Achievement Medal is typically awarded to junior officers and enlisted personnel for meritorious service or achievement in a particular area. For example, Senior Airman David E. Conner was honored with the Air Force Achievement Medal for his heroic actions in rescuing civilians from a burning apartment building in 2018.
