An IPM motor is essentially an electric engine that has been designed with magnets inside the motor casing. These magnets are either embedded into the motor’s stator or placed within the rotor. The stator is the stationary part of the motor, while the rotor is the moving part. The magnets interact with the electrical current passing through the motor, creating a strong magnetic field that causes the rotor to rotate. This rotation creates the mechanical force needed to turn the motor’s shaft and operate a wide range of devices.

Unlike other types of electric motors, IPM motors require no external power source. Instead, they draw their energy from the magnets in the stator and rotor, which makes them more efficient than traditional motors. Additionally, IPM motors are often quieter due to the reduced friction between the stator and rotor. This makes them ideal for use in applications where noise levels must be kept low, such as medical equipment and household appliances.
